FALLS CHURCH, VA — The Association of Health Insurance Advisors (AHIA), the health insurance division of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA), is pleased to support Covering kids and families, a project of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
Covering kids and families works to reduce the number of uninsured children and adults who are eligible for low-cost or free health care coverage programs but are not yet enrolled.
As part of the 2006 Covering Kids & Families Back-to-School Campaign, more than 4,000 events are taking place across the country to help connect eligible, uninsured children with low-cost and free health care coverage. AHIA joined more than 200 national organizations for this year’s Back-to-School Campaign, which launched in early August and will continue through September.
As a national supporter, AHIA encourages its members to help spread the word that low-cost and free health care coverage is available through Medicaid and the State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP). It is not too late to get involved and the Covering Kids & Families Communications Team is available to help.
Covering Kids & Families offers free online guides that cover topics such as event planning, placing public service announcements and conducting media outreach. Many of the free outreach materials such as fliers, posters, fans and bookmarks can also be used year round. Visit www.coveringkidsandfamilies.org/materials/order to learn more.
